The Best Southern California Breweries

By 4  pm on

If you’re in Southern California, then you’re probably spending time outside thanks to our famous sunshine and endless warm weather. Nothing goes better with sunshine and time outside than an ice-cold beer, so we’ve put together a list of the best Southern California breweries here!

Check it out to find a local beer that tastes great, then visit Beach Bound for beach apparel that feels great to wear!

Monkish Brewing Co.

Monkish is in Torrance near the Beach Bound shop in Hermosa Beach, but that’s not why it’s one of our favorites. Monkish is here because it has fantastic beers that rotate constantly and a comfortable tap room that’s great for everything from get togethers to remote work sessions.

If you find a beer you love there, they also have a tap room in Anaheim as well. Plus, they ship their beers throughout California!

El Segundo Brewing

As the name implies, El Segundo Brewing is in El Segundo which makes it a great place to stop on your way to or from Los Angeles. On top of several west coast IPAs that are worth a visit alone, El Segundo is home to the popular Broken Skull line of beers.

El Segundo also has a rotating list of food trucks that allow you to get an excellent meal along with your beer!

Ballast Point

Ballast Point is one of the most well-known breweries on this list, which means you can find their beer all over the country. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t see where they come from by visiting their breweries in Southern California.

Ballast Point started brewing in San Diego in 1996, but today they’ve spread all over Southern California and the country. Their most popular beer is their Sculpin IPA, but you’ll have to visit to see which one is your favorite.

Beachwood Brewing

Beachwood Brewing is in downtown Longbeach and was founded by a husband-and-wife team whose experience was in the kitchen and not behind the bar. However, as they grew their restaurant they infused their taste for craft ingredients into beer to make one of the most popular breweries in Southern California. They also have fantastic BBQ to go with their beer, so plan to have a meal during your visit!

Highland Park Brewery

Visiting Los Angeles from other Southern California towns is often a day long adventure, so if you have time and need a reliably unexpected beer selection then check out Highland Park Brewery.

You won’t have to worry about finding the perfect place for your group among L.A.’s huge food and drink scene since Highland Park Brewery has all the classic beers to satisfy those who know what they like as well as several experimental beers that may just become your next favorite.

No matter what type of beer you have at Highland Park Brewery, you’ll be surrounded by excellent beer and one of the most diverse restaurant scenes in the world!
