Beach Tennis Association’s Tournament

On June 4th, the Beach Tennis Association will put on the 4th annual Jesse Yaneva Memorial tournament at Hermosa Beach.

If you’re unfamiliar with Beach Tennis, then this is a great chance to watch professional players take the sport to its highest level of competition. There is also an intermediate and advanced division of the tournament where amateurs can compete against one another.

On both June 4th and June 5th men’s and women’s divisions will play at the intersection of 14th and the Strand to be crowned champion. Click the link above for more information on registration!

South Bay Paddle

On Saturday June 4th, The South Bay Paddle will begin on the southside of Hermosa Beach Pier.

Although you may think of paddle boarding as a relaxing way to get on the water, this 15-mile race is designed for extremely skilled paddleboarders to test themselves and qualify for an even longer race, the Catalina Classic 32 Mile Open Ocean Paddleboard Race.

Racers will paddle all the way to Palos Verdes, then back to Hermosa Beach Pier but you don’t have to commit to the entire race to compete. There is a three-mile race that runs through the same waters as the longer race, and there are several age and skill divisions for anyone who wants to participate!

Community Volleyball Tournament

On June 18th, there will be a Hermosa Beach community volleyball tournament where participants will compete against one another in a friendly atmosphere that’s perfect for making friends and memories at the same time.

Hermosa Beach has a long history with beach volleyball. In fact, the city is obsessed with beach volleyball to the point that there are dozens of courts stretching the length of Hermosa Beach as well as a beautiful mural depicting our history with the sport!
