Beach B.A.L.L. 2022

April 23rd from 6-10 p.m.

Barsha Restaurant

Come dressed in your finest red carpet attire and join Leadership Hermosa Beach for a dazzling evening of Old Hollywood–style glamor and fun at the 2022 Beach B.A.L.L.. This memorable night will be showcasing the organization’s alumni and the class of 2022 as well as celebrating the recipients of this year’s Emerging Leader Awards.

The Emerging Leader Awards are presented to people who have demonstrated leadership and service within the Hermosa Beach community. Award categories include Emerging Leader, Adult, Business/Nonprofit, and Youth.

You’ll have the chance to show off your Old Hollywood flair with photos on the red carpet, and you’ll be treated to a live performance by crooner Danny Freyer and his amazing swing band. Get ready to dance the night away to jazz standards, big band favorites, swing classics, and more!

Tickets are $75 for early bird admission (while supplies last) and $90 for general admission. Admission includes complimentary food, drinks specials, and plenty of fun surprises. Proceeds from Beach B.A.L.L. 2022 will go toward future Leadership Hermosa Beach alumni projects that benefit Hermosa Beach and the surrounding community.

Earth Day Beach Cleanup with Beach Bound Sports

April 22nd from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Hermosa Beach Pier

If you’re looking for the perfect way to honor Mother Earth on Earth Day this year, bring your friends and family to join the Beach Bound team and like-minded folks from Hermosa Beach and South Bay for a community beach cleanup.

Make sure to bring gloves, closed-toe shoes, water (reusable bottles only—no plastic), and some snacks, and simply look for the big blue Beach Bound tent at the south end of the Hermosa Beach Pier. You’ll be provided with recycled trash bags to collect trash from the beach, and at the end of the day, those who’ve picked up the most trash will be awarded prizes.

After the prizes are given out, Beach Bound will be hosting an intimate beach party, where you can enjoy beach games, corn hole, and beach volleyball. There will be umbrellas and beach chairs set up to ensure your comfort.

Surfers Walk of Fame Weekend

April 22nd–23rd

Hermosa Beach Community Theatre & Pier Plaza

Surfing is a large part of Hermosa Beach’s rich heritage, and to honor that history, Hermosa Beach’s surfing legends are recognized by being inducted into the Surfer’s Walk of Fame, which is located on the Hermosa Beach Pier. This weekend of celebration starts with the Surfers Walk of Fame Kick Off Party at the Hermosa Beach Community Theatre on Friday, April 22nd. Doors open at 5:00 p.m. At this event, presented by the Hermosa Beach Historical Society and the South Bay Boardriders Club, you’ll have the opportunity to meet past and present inductees and watch a surf film produced by Brad Jacobson and the South Bay Surf Awards.

The Surfers Walk of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. This year, the ceremony will be honoring the 2020 inductees because the previous two annual ceremonies were canceled due to COVID-19. Following the induction ceremony, the Spyder Surf Fest, which features live music, giveaways, and raffles, will start at 1:00 p.m. on Pier Plaza.
